Mount Everest is an entity that accumulates numbers, but which numbers can scarcely appraise. Its peak lies 29,028 feet above sea level in Nepal-the highest spot on earth.

It was surmounted for the first time in the year 1953 by these two Gentlemen, Late Tenzing Norgay a Nepali Sherpa and Late Sir Edmund Hillary a New Zealander ; this rarest of partnership achieving what can be termed “A truly human feat, a triumph of human endeavor over the seemingly insuperable”.

In Nepal Edmund and Tenzing are legends. Their achievement is symbolic to the Nepalese people in ways aplenty. For us it epitomizes our belief in meaningful partnerships; of convergences, synergies, symbioses but eventually doing it right.
